Press Release

(Washington, D.C.) – Save the date!  The little pink book that makes politicians squirm is back.  Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) will release the 2015 Congressional Pig Book at a press conference on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 9 am.  This year marks CAGW’s 23rd edition of its exposé on pork-barrel spending.  Given that members of Congress in both chambers and on both sides of the aisle have repeatedly attempted to restore earmarks, the release of this year’s Pig Book is even more timely.

The 2015 Congressional Pig Book features a complete database of pork projects identified by CAGW and the 2015 Pig Book Summary profiles the most egregious examples from the 12 fiscal year (FY) 2015 appropriations bills.

Confirmed speakers at the press conference include Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Penn.), Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), and Rep. Tom McClintock (R- Calif.) who will discuss the current state of earmark reform and the earmark moratorium, and what more needs to be done to permanently stop Congress from practicing its swinish ways.
